Course Overview

This interactive training course is intended for existing lift truck operators who need to operate pedestrian controlled lift trucks. This course fully complies with the approved code of practice for the training of lift truck operators.

On completion of this training course, operators should have a good understanding of the operational parameters and techniques for pedestrian controlled lift truck operations. In accordance with the manufacturers guide lines and accepted good practice.

  • Understand the duties and responsibilities of pedestrian truck operators
  • Component parts and operational parameters
  • Operator safety devices and equipment
  • Features effecting the stability and safety of the pedestrian controlled lift truck
  • Understand and operate all the controls of the pedestrian controlled lift truck
  • Rating charts and sources of information
  • Carry out pre-use checks and understand defect reporting procedures
  • Operate within the design limits of the pedestrian controlled lift trucks
  • Understand the safe loading of the pedestrian controlled lift truck
  • Operate and manoeuvre pedestrian controlled lift trucks in restrictive areas
  • Stack and de-stack at varying heights (Model/type dependant)
  • Undercutting procedures
  • Travelling with a load
