This interactive training course is intended for experienced Telescopic Material Handler (TMH) operators. The training & achievement test fully complies with the approved code of practice for training lift truck operators.

On completion of this refresher training course, learners will have updated their underpinning knowledge and operating skills. In accordance with the manufacturers guide lines and accepted good practice.

Telescopic Material Handler Refresher Syllabus

  • Introduction to Telescopic Material Handler safety
  • Duties and responsibilities of plant operators
  • Sources of information and TMH rating
  • Environmental considerations and general site hazards
  • Recognise, describe, and explain the principle components
  • Understand the features effecting the stability and capacity of the TMH
  • Safely locate and operate all the controls of the TMH
  • Use of four wheel drive and steering system
  • Understand and correctly respond to warning devices – ASLI
  • Carry out pre-use safety checks and perform daily maintenance
  • Recognise safe ground conditions & operate within the design parameters
  • Rating and safe loading of the TMH
  • Use of telescopic boom, quick hitch forks and hydraulic connections
  • Operate and manoeuvre TMH in restrictive areas
  • Stack and de-stack at varying heights
  • Safety at scaffold and load out towers
  • Stacking of block and tile packs
  • Preparing the TMH for road travel
  • Parking and shutdown procedures
